Familiarization Trip, what’s this? It’s an opportunity for you to get a sneak peek into what makes multi-day kayak instruction on the Rogue River so unique. Imagine a multi-day kayak trip where raft support, food and all of the gear including kayaks is provided! We’ll take care of all of the logistics, including shuttle. Our instructors will be joining you on this trip but no formal instruction will be provided. Our goal is simple; we want kayakers to see why we love the Rogue River! Join us June 14th-16th and discover it yourself!

You’ll start your adventure with a night at the historic Riverhouse Lodge. Here you’ll have a chance to meet some of our world-class instructors and get a good nights rest before embarking on your 4-day adventure down the Wild & Scenic Rogue River! Experience the natural progression and learning environment the Rogue has to offer. Fun waves, playful holes, big recovery pools and countless opportunities to challenge your skills. Bring your own kayak or demo one of the many kayaks in our expanding fleet.

Have you tried Stand Up Paddle boarding? This is your chance! We’re bringing our top of the line SUP boards for you to demo. Yes, Sundance Kayak School now provides SUP instruction too! Learn to balance in the calm pools then challenge yourself in Class II rapids.

Each day will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner prepared by our guides. This will give you plenty of time to soak up the Rogue’s beauty & ambiance. One of the many things we love about the Rogue is it’s abundance in wildlife. Don’t forget to bring your camera to take home the memories.

About JR

JR's enthusiasm for life readily extends to all things whitewater and at Sundance, we consider him the guru of everything kayak. He spends his summers on the Rogue River as an awesome kayak instructor and during the off season, he gravitates toward any body of water that will give him some thrill. He tends to surround himself with others that share the same passion.
